The new Printer (E525w) is almost the exact same machine as my previous (1765nfw) except the Paper Feeder Tray is Enclosed rather than Open. That's very Weird - what's up with Dell ? And Dell is still lacking many Windows 10 specific software pakages.Īnd if you want to buy a Dell Product - Check other e-Retailers besides the official Dell Store - I found my new Printer for 30% less on (other big e-Retailer) after I had purchased from Dell.

With No Help from Dell for the 1765nfw Problem, broke down and bought the New Dell E525w:Ĭan Print Black Text again - Installed my New Dell Printerīut Obsolescence is knocking on my Door - my two older Windows XP Machines were able to load up the E525w Printer and Scanner Drivers (So I can Print, Copy, Scan OK), but the newer associated Dell Software (Cloud Based Printer Hub with access to the Printer Tool Box) only works with Windows Vista and above.

So this Problem is obviously either mechanical, or more likely electrical control (bad circuit Panel) internal to the Printer. Had been using EPS replacement toner (25% the cost of Dell Toner - all Toner, Dell or 3rd Party looks like it all comes from China no diff). Just wasted $40 (on original Dell Black Toner Cartridge) to confirm that this isn't a Toner Problem.
Guessing that anyone with this Problem is SOL !ĭell does not offer the 1765nfw for sale anymore looks like it's been replaced by the (very similar) Dell Color Multi function Printer - E525w ($329.99) which uses different Toner Cartridges Have made NO System Changes that would have (that I know) affected Print Quality.

Will attempt to order and install an original Dell Black Toner Cartridge to rule out that the Third Party Toner is not at Fault. Using a Third Party High Capacity Black Toner Cartridge which has been Printing Perfectly for 7 Months. If I take a Screen Image of the Black Text Document and print it as a Graphic (jpg), it Prints almost Perfect (maybe just slightly lighter than it should be -but not much).Ĭolor Printing is still OK - If I print the Darkest Navy Blue (instead of Black) it comes out Fine. It tries to Print but Text is so Light that it is virtually Invisible. Now the Printer (1765nfw) will not print any Black Text from any Word.doc, Web Page, Adobe Acrobat Reader PDF, etc.
